CurrencyPal

A private, offline-first currency converter for iPhone.

Type an amount in any row and every other currency updates at once. Rates are cached on your device, so the app keeps converting when you have no signal — on a plane, on a border crossing, on a foreign SIM that has not connected yet.

How it works

Frequently asked

The rates look out of date.

The badge at the top of the list says when they were last fetched, and turns orange after four hours. Pull down to refresh. If a refresh fails, the app keeps the previous rates rather than showing you nothing, and marks the badge with a no-signal icon.

Where do the rates come from?

Fiat currencies use European Central Bank reference rates via Frankfurter; the ruble uses open.er-api.com; crypto prices come from CoinGecko. These are reference rates for orientation — a bank, card issuer or exchange office will apply its own spread and fees.

Why does a chart say there is no data?

Historical series are not published for every pair — the ruble is the main example. Rate providers also throttle free requests; if you open several charts in quick succession, give it a moment and reopen.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once it has fetched rates at least once. Conversion runs entirely on your device.

Do you collect any data?

No. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. See the privacy policy.
